Hon. Dr Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, today joined partners and stakeholders for the opening of the 20206 Safe African Helmets Initiative(SAHI) Summit
In his address he emphasised that a helmet must do more than simply look protective. It must meet the required safety standards, be properly fitted and worn, and provide genuine protection in the event of a crash. The safety of our riders and passengers must remain at the heart of our transport policies.
He commend the FIA Foundation, Transaid, the National Road Safety Authority and all participating partners for bringing this important conversation to Ghana. Our shared responsibility is to ensure that safety is not an afterthought, but a fundamental part of how we design and manage mobility across our continent.
Our goal must be simple: every head deserves a safe helmet, every journey deserves a safe return, and every life saved is a family kept whole.
